Before I Let Go

I know, I’ve slacked a huge bit on my writing over the last couple of months, and for that I sincerely apologize.

But I would not dare do you such a disservice by ending not just 2019 but closing out the decade on a high and transparent note via this blog.

So, before I let go of 2019, let’s get right to it.

It seems as if 2019 has been a bit of a whirlwind for almost everyone I know.

Whirlwind in this case does not necessarily mean negativity but instead extremely busy and also extremely life changing

I remember transitioning from 1999 to 2000 and even 2009 to 2010 but it didn’t quite feel as SIGNIFICANT as this transition from 2019 to 2020.

Maybe it’s because I’m older or maybe it’s because I’ve accomplished a lot over the last ten years, especially throughout 2019 alone.

Nevertheless, I know 2020 will be the birth of something VERY BEAUTIFUL and you should know it too!

The vast majority of my readers are millennials who have graduated high school and college over this last decade. My remaining readers are those who have supported and cared for the millennials who are now making their mark on the world.

No matter what side of the fence you lie on, I want you to take a huge moment to REFLECT on all you’ve accomplished and most importantly all you’ve OVERCOME over the last decade, ESPECIALLY throughout 2019.

You may have left a dangerous, unhealthy, and abuse relationship, CELEBRATE AND REJOICE.

You may have overcome poverty, fear, sickness, low self-esteem, and procrastination, CELEBRATE AND REJOICE.

You may have let go of a toxic soul tie, CELEBRATE AND REJOICE

You may have rediscovered or discovered your destiny, your purpose, your calling, CELEBRATE AND REJOICE

You may have taken a humongous leap of faith, CELEBRATE AND REJOICE.

You may have purchased a home, received your first career promotion, gone back to school, and said NO to a few things you WANTED to say yes to, CELEBRATE AND REJOICE.

You may have gotten married, gotten engaged, or celebrated your first wedding anniversary, CELEBRATE AND REJOICE.

No matter what you’ve accomplished, surpassed, overcome, or defeated, what is important is that you take the time out to REFLECT and to CELEBRATE YOU and all GOD has done for you.

You may not quite be where you desire just yet but CELEBRATE AND REJOICE over the fact that you are NOT where you use to be.

I know that may not bring you many warm and fuzzies yet, but ALWAYS remember to celebrate even the smallest step towards your freedom.

There’s a post floating around on Instagram that says, “2020 is very personal for me, I owe myself a lot," and I pray that that saying NOT just be your mantra for 2020 but for the next decade.

What you birth and produce over this next year WILL create LEGACY for your bloodline and FREE you from poverty and check to check living.

I will proudly say that what I’ve accomplished in 2019, and over this last decade, will only be the beginning.

My personal goal for 2020 is to not only “keep that same energy” but to go above and beyond with a NEW drive and consistency now more than ever before.

I challenge you to confess this goal over your life as well.

I mean, your future literally depends on your ability to follow through and not lose your drive or passion.

The closing on my first home was not just for me, but my family, my unborn children, and for my children’s children.

My increase in travel was a representation for much needed and regular self-care to be incorporated into my life.

My ability to purchase a new car, close on my first home, and be the cosigner on a car for my brother ALL IN THE SAME YEAR was just a glimpse of how His favor rests upon me.

I don’t know about you, but I am super excited about what God is going to do over the next 10 years of my life.

I am closing out 2019 with a new outlook on God’s Love for me and being a joint heir to His Throne.

I encourage you to do the same while also keeping these scriptures in mind, Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 19:21, Romans 8:28, Psalms 145:9, Philippians 2:13, and Ephesians 2:10.

Surround yourself with people, places, and things that remind you of the promises of the Lord, Your God, Your Father.

Oh, and last but not least, drop a few things in the comment that you need to celebrate BEFORE YOU LET GO of 2019 and cross into a NEW DECADE.

We have a lot of work to do, and I am excited about your future!!!
